If you are having trouble figuring out how to add media (photos, videos, etc) to this group here's a quick little guide. Firstly, the easiest way to post to the group is to literally click "post" in the upper-right corner of the group page and select the type of media you are posting, and upload it straight to the group. Whatever you upload will be automatically added on your page as well. If you have something uploaded already and would like to add it to the group, go to whatever is is and underneath the post click the [+ group] button and select this group 'Close But Not Quite' and it will be added.
In order for us to keep track of what you are doing on the site and add points we require that all posts be approved before showing up, so if you've added something and it has not appeared in the group albums, shoot either of the admins a message and we will make sure to check it.

Sunday morning (August 17, 2008) we got up early and actually got ready
in enough time to drive to The Home Depot Center in Carson and be at
Warped early. We got there only to realize that we would be in line any
way and could’ve stayed home and had an extra hour of sleep. We
literally were in line for one hour, half of which was just walking to
the end. When we finally did get in we realized that we’d already
missed The Academy is, because for some dumb ass reason, they played at
11:15. WTF! Cobra Starship
came on as we were walking away, but there was such a massive crowd, we
decided to miss them and find the Music Saves Lives booth. We could
hear them from a great distance though, so we enjoyed that.
MSL
actually had a decent set-up for this venue. Throughout the day there
would be signings with different bands, but there were no set times and
we were definitely not about to sit there all day. We contacted Travis’
assistant to set up a time for our interview, and it ended up
conflicting with All Time Low’s
performance. Since we didn’t really have a choice, we agreed and
decided to watch ATL acoustic at the MySpace tent, although we were in
the very back and could see nothing. It was still awesome, although I
could only catch glimpses of Alex.
We
planned on watching M.I.A. at the old school stage, but there were some
more music conflicts, and we don’t do those. We decided to hang out and
take in all that Warped has to offer, in this case, just listening to
random bands on stages we pass. We chilled backstage because it was hot
and everyone we wanted to see was later in the afternoon. We hung out,
drank the nastiest beverage known to man (Warped catering has the worst
beverage ever). When it was time to interview Travis we went to the bus
area where his assistant escorted us onto the bus and we sat at the
messiest table ever and started the interview. The interview was
interesting. I doubt wither of us were nervous, but it was a funny
‘butterflies in my tummy” situation. Travis was really open and candid
about everything, and that was entertaining. The bus had a nice amount
of traffic, but it was cool. I tried to not make it obvious at times
when I’d slowly move the camera to the right to record Matt or Eric, haha. After the interview we headed over to the MySpace tent to watch GCH perform acoustic. We had a great time, I must say.
We
started to make our way over to 3OH!3, and stopped to hear Charlotte
Sometimes perform. She was pretty amazing, so we watched her for a
minute before we continued on our way. We eventually made our way to
the hurley.com
stage where 3OH!3 was getting ready to perform. We were so far back,
but still enthusiastic, because they always have a good time. As soon
as they came out it was pure energy, and although the back of the crowd
is almost always wack, we were not alone. There were a group of kids
just as hyped to see 3OH!3 as we were, so that was funny. Of course we
rocked the fuck out during their performance. Then we decided to make
our way to the main stage to prepare for Gym Class Heroes.
We
walked into the crowd that was waiting for Reel Big Fish to perform. We
wound up leaving because all those assholes were throwing shit and
acting foolish, and with my knee hurting the way it was, I was in no
mood. We decided to sit off to the side and wait to the end of their
set to try and get in or GCH. RBF
was soft and it confused me because their fans were acting all rough
and shit, fucking posers. I caught a cold cause the wind was blowing on
my now damp t-shirt, then we got into the front of the crowd to wait
for GCH.
Angels & Airwaves had what felt like the longest set of life.
Eventually though, Gym Class Heroes hit the stage. As always the show
was amazing. I don't know whether or not it was coincidence that the
one day where we end up on Disashi's side of the stage, Eric kept managing to end up in our faces.
All in all it was a pretty fun day. We did not leave with a lot of merch; I only bought one "OMG ATL!" shirt. I think that Warped was amazing, overall, even with the mishaps. I'm prepared for next year, and I honestly cannot wait to do it again.

My birthday was not so much fun as it was an adventure; Warped Tour was not as amazing as I had hoped. LaShaunda and I left my house early Thursday morning so we could beat traffic on our way to Chula Vista for Warped Tour. We got off to a great start, with the 405-freeway automatically branching off to the 5. Like I expected, we missed an exit and long story short, got lost. After we pulled over to ask for directions and started to drive again, we realized my car was making some loud piercing sound. We got nervous, so instead of taking the freeway to the motel, we pulled over to figure out what it was. It wasn’t anything visible, so we eventually asked for a mechanic and were directed to Chago who thought it was the brake pads. While driving to the nearest Kragen for parts, we went into a big dip and the noise stopped. Feeling a little relieved we decided to gun it for the motel, and if anything, get a cab from there to Warped. We finally got to Motel 6, after getting confused several times. San Diego has too many damn freeways.
We checked in, situated ourselves, ate some McDonald’s and headed back out. We got a little turned around again, because the directions were stupid, but we eventually got to the Cricket Amphitheatre. Our first attempt to enter the premises was thwarted by a lame rule that we couldn’t bring in bottles over 20 ounces. We went back to the car, poured our cold Fiji water into our luke-warm 20 oz. Dasani bottles and went for it. Apparently, because LaShaunda’s was open, she had to discard it. Like it’s so impossible to believe that she could’ve took a sip at some point during the walk from the car to the entrance. Lame. That was the start of a terrible relationship with that venue.
We got to the board, wrote down what times our bands would play at what stages and went on to find the Music Saves Lives booth. We got our wristbands and decided to catch some shows. I forgot who we saw when, but I know we watched 3OH!3 and The Academy Is. Both of them were amazing. 3OH!3 is always fun to be involved with, because they're so damn awesome. Although we were in the back for TAI, we enjoyed it because they play the jams every time, obviously. We listened to We The Kings from afar, we were sitting somewhere in the shade. They were having some timing conflicts with the stages and bands would be performing at the same time, canceling out one another's sound. That was quite irritating. When we finally did get backstage somewhere, we had to bunch into this small area. Once Katy Perry came out, another band on the Old School stage came out and totally blew her ass out the water... their music was so much faster, harder, and louder. The music was conflicting and we started to get headaches, so we left during her set.
We ended up buying a decent amount of merch, I more than LaShaunda. We bought and consumed the warmest, nastiest strawberry lemonade of life. We complained a lot about the wackness of the venue, and that was fun... because it was the truth. At some point we were in the bus area and saw Travis McCoy and Katy Perry hop out of a Town Car, which was actually quite amusing to both of us. I took a few stalker shots, because I could. We made the decision to sit through The Vandals so we could bum rush the barricade for GCH. It worked out fabulously.
Gym Class Heroes put on amazing show that evening. I’m not sure if it was because we were so close, but it felt extra special for some reason. Have you ever been looking up at your favorite band member and it looks like they are playing just for you? I know it sounds so fan girl, but I could swear it was happening a lot that night. LaShaunda and me cut up something terrible every time they do ‘Cookie Jar’ because it is just that awesome. I actually really love when they do the Lamb of God cover, it’s amazing to watch… they’re so into it. That performance made up for the overall wackness of the day.
After walking around the bus area for a few minutes we headed for the car, where we sat for about half an hour waiting for traffic to clear. We finally left after a brief tiff with an officer about why I drove the wrong way in traffic. We eventually got back to the Motel. I asked LaShaunda could I hit up Travis, because he was online (which he rarely is). She didn’t want me talking shit, so I made up this random excuse that we wanted to interview him at the last Warped show. Assuming he was not going to reply I sent him a message saying just that and sure enough, he replied. That conversation eventually led to us landing our interview.
Now we’re up in the midnight hours trying to think of questions to ask, because we actually had no previous intentions of doing an interview. We wrote a lot of our own and asked our good friends at upstate-kids.net to input some of theirs. We went to Denny’s at some point, had some good food (no alcohol, wtf?) then went so sleep. The next morning we woke up, lounged and got ready to go to SeaWorld. Despite LaShaunda’s hesitation and lack of understanding, we had a lot of fun. We got on two water rides and a virtual-reality ride hat rocked. We left after about 5 hours though, because our dogs was barking like crazy.
That night, sleepy as hell, we decided to catch the trolly to Downtown. We found out that it’d take more than one to get there and there was a high likeliness of us getting lost. Some random dudes from Long Beach were trying to persuade us to kick it with them in a hotel, mind you there were like 9 of them, and just us two. WTF, you’re kidding me, right? So we decided to go back to the motel, hop in the car and just drive to Downtown. We eventually got there, drove through the Gas Lamp district, which looked like a great time and found the freeway to get back home. We were so incredibly sleepy by this point, lucky for us it was a straight shot and only about a 10-minute drive.
The next day we packed up and left for home. The drive was long and hot, and we were nervous because we never got the car checked out. We made it though. Saturday was just another day getting ready for Warped.

Busy week, kinda. No computer w/internet... and buzznet mobile is kind of lame. My 21st Birthday, two (2) Warped shows, and a free GCH show. Awesome, I know. (I kid... I kid... lol) I have a lot to write about, but definitely do not feel like it right now. Not that anybody reads these, but I'll try to blog by tomorrow. G'night!

It's my birthday. I'm 21. I plan to stay this young forever. I may drink a little, but I'm not a lush. Warped is today, I am so excited. Maybe I'll take a chill at the Beer Garden and have myself a brewsky! haha. I hate beer, FYI, and I do not condone consuming nasty alcohol. I hope to meet all the great artists I did last time... some of whom may or not have to be cussed out, but I digress.
It's super early, and that's never a good thing.... but we have to beat this L.A. traffic. We should be out there by 10, so we can check in to our Motel 6 room (party afterwards! BYOB. LoL!) and get situated. Tomorrow we're totally going to Sea World... ha! That'll be an experience. Shamu's old ass should be dead, because they been having him jumping around since before I was born. WTH!
Anywho... I'll be back to say how it goes. :)

What benefit is it to have a picture of somebody else as your profile picture? It's one thing for you to be in the picture with someone popular, but to just have a picture of John O from The Maine or Alex from All Time Low, it's dumb. It is irritating. It is confusing. It gets very old, especially when a lot of fans of that one person do it... so all the comments on their page have their own faces by them. If your username is someone else's name and has the word fan in it, it is enough. Having a picture of said person just makes you look ridiculous.
Also... uploading a lot of pictures of said person that you downloaded from this site is really stupid. I know where you got them. I know you didn't take them. Stop it.
Don't be mad if this applies to you. Just change your profile picture to: - yourself
- yourself and _______ [enter band members' name here]
- A flower, insect, or other special thing
Don't hate me.

Just a FYI. They like them. People want them... a lot. People are simple, it doesn't take much. That may be the single most effective promotional tool.

One of the BEST CD's I own. Indescribable... in a good way. One of a kind... new and unique.
Go buy it! You can live without Starbucks for one day. It's cheaper than a Jack In The Box combo. It costs less than 2 gallons of gas. It last longer than all of the above.
Do it for yourself. Your parents will probably love it. Neighbors won;t be mad if you blast it.
Eye Alaska is the Sex. Nia coined the term. I abuse it. I love Eye Alaska!

LaShaunda had this to say about the situation: As a continuation of the last journal reguarding FN's policy of who gets to go to the show, several people were not allowed to go in because they did not fit the look. They will lie and say that it's because they needed a certain amount of fans for each artist and it had "sold out". I hear some people camped out, but I doubt it was that many for a free show when the artist on performs one song (or two if they have extra time).
What they didn't know is that someone in our crew got a ticket even though he actually said he didn't really like anybody on today... but you know why he got that ticket? Because he fit the look. They just assumed that he wasn't with us too. Oops. It goes beyond being just overweight but in the appearance overall. They literally went through the audience picking out people one by one. They took at least 100, if not more, people that showed up way after we got in line... then claimed that the show was sold out. B.S.
So, when you watch FN tonight be prepared to see a lot of girls that look like they could be stand ins on The Hills--white, thin, blonde and/or brunette with long hair. A couple of guys "there for Slipknot"... even though all the guys I saw them pick could be on any MTV reality show themselves.
If I hadn't just walked out of Dark Knight I would have been much more angry, but that movie was so good I was pretty much over them and their drama at that point. David sold his wristband to some sap for $10. Then, we just hung out in Hollywood. I contacted Carrie and we stopped by to visit the Buzznet office. :)) I picked up some more Buzznet swag.
Blah. FN is officially wack though. I'm over it. I hope Pete finds out about it all and has the casting director fired because he's a pretty stand-up dude and I don't think he'd appreciate that.
EDIT: I'm watching FN now... even if I didn't know for sure what was going on I would just assume by looking at that audience that they were only letting a certain type of look in.
My issue is not only that they had a physical preference for audience members, but they assumed that certain people could not be fans of these artists, based solely on how they looked. It upsets me that people are so closed-minded that they cannot grasp the concept of a black person who likes pop/ alternative/ rock artists or a white kid who wants to see a rap artist. (I guess I'm f**ked all-around because I'm fat and black. Bummer.) I'm really mad that the show's casting managers feed into the stereotype of how a particular artist's fan should look. All Jonas Brothers fans aren't 16 year-old white girls and all Nelly fans aren't black. It irritates me. F'N MTV is officially wack! I wish there were more shows (and other media) that do not perpetuate stereotyes and do not expect "typical." As Nia says "Sorry if everyone doesn't fit the criteria of the scene-of-the-moment."Even yesterday at the Pinkapalooza people were looking at LaShaunda and me like we were f**king lost. It made me mad that people actually thought we were not... and could not... actually be Fall Out Boy fans. What makes it bitter sweet is that we knew pretty much all the words to every song. Shocking, right? GEESH! I am so tired of like... society.

I
had a pretty amazing time last night. Me, LaShaunda, and some friends
of ours went to The Maine’s album release party at The Knitting Factory
in Hollywood. LaShaunda managed to get her and myself on the V.I.P.
list plus two.
Chapter 1 – Unimportant Stuff
I
left work early, because I don’t care about the job… at all. I went
home, took a shower, and did my hair, looked for something to wear. I
landed on a Glamour Kills shirt and my favorite skinny-leg jeans. In
retrospect, I could’ve been a tad more creative, but I didn’t want to
stand out more than I already thought I would, but I digress. I took
forever, then couldn’t seem to get out of the house, then out of the
parking space, then…. Traffic! I picked up LaShaunda, more traffic,
then $8 parking.
Chapter 2 – Where The Party At?
When
we initially got there at 7, no one else had arrived, but Nia and her
boyfriend, David. We were told to arrive at 7, but the doors actually
didn’t open until about 9. So we met up with Carrie from Buzznet and
killed time at Coffee Bean. Then we went through some motions trying to
get my wristband; apparently I was on a “different” list than
LaShaunda; some guy (Who’s coincidentally named Guy) helped me out. We
got our V.I.P. wristbands, then chilled and waited for a bit for the
doors to open.
While
we were waiting, LaShaunda and I paparazzi-flashed Pat Kirch. He’s so
adorable, and a lot taller than either of us had expected. We also met
a few other people from Buzznet, cool. We eventually got in, so that
was also good.
Chapter 3 – Maxin’ & Chillaxin’
It
started off slow, people just walking around, some heading to bar
(coughs) John’O. LaShaunda and I both said “Hi Jared” when he walked
by, and he was looking for who said it. When he figured out who it was,
he said, “hi back.” Nice kid. Then we just kind of moved around through
the party, situated ourselves, and enjoyed the occasion. It was fun. I
think me and Nia might’ve boogied quite a bit, but I could be mistaken.
We saw the first band setting up, so we headed to the stage.
Chapter 4 – Wow!
I
have to admit, other than The Maine; I had no idea who else would be
there and what they would sound like. When the first band came on, A
Rocket To the Moon I was into it, a lot. It was hard not to be, what
with being like a centimeter away from the stage. They were pretty damn
good, despite some technical difficulties. I like them. Afterwards, Eye
Alaska came on stage. Wow! I was like, “what the f**k is this… I like
it!” They really got down; the bass player (Who I’ve learned is named
Chris) was acting up. The lead singer had his personal business all in
my grill. I took a lot of photos of both of the bands.
Chapter 5 – The Maine Event (Got it, right? LoL
Finally…
and not that I wasn’t entertained by the other bands… The Maine came
on. I was right in front of John’s crotch the entire time. They sounded
so good and the energy was crazy; the audience could’ve been livelier
though. I admit, I wasn’t doing much moving, but that’s because I’m
already this like fat girl with big hair at the front of the stage… I
wasn’t trying to cause people behind me any issues. Regardless, the
show was amazing. I love them live. Also, LaShaunda and I were
assaulted by somebody’s sweat, and it was not that fun. We got a major
amount of photos, except; apparently mines have a lot of red eye, which
is super weird and lame. Whatever. After they left the stage, they went
right back to the party. John was right there, eh gave me a hug and
said “thanks for coming.’ He was being ridiculously cool.
Chapter 6 – Go Home, Bitches!
Apparently,
the night was over for anyone who did not have V.I.P. wristbands, which
luckily, we had. I was so damn stoked about that, because I was not at
all ready to leave. We all kind of just hung out for a bit, then Nia
and David left. Afterwards, LaShaunda and I were just taking in the
scenery. It was extremely funny watching people dance. Alcohol makes
everything funny. Obviously, I couldn’t drink, because I am not 21 and
I am the driver (lame). However, LaShaunda got some pineapple
concoction, and it was really good. We talked to a few people from the
bands, and they were all pretty nice. Max, you know the one… he’s a
total manwhore. He had to make out with at least four different chicks.
Chapter 7 – Can’t Stop Won’t Stop
So
LaShaunda and me were being total losers. It was fun, still. At some
point or another John noticed us, or I don’t know what happened, but we
ended up talking, and hugging and whatnot. I am fairly certain he was
drunk, but let him tell it, he wasn’t there yet; despite the fact he
was sitting at that bar all night. He was extremely cool, and it was
like… surprising. I liked it though. He kept doing this dance/ thing…
it was like, the robot, but nothing but his hands were moving and he
was descending. If I had one regret, it’s that I did not get that on
video. We did get pictures with him, and I have video of him and his
friends doing something like dancing. He was mad cool.
All
night we thought Garrett was like, I don’t know… avoiding us. It was
messing with me, so I finally caught him walking alone, and called him
before he got away. I was like, “me and my friend have been trying to
tell you hi, but we couldn’t get you.’ He said something like, “Why
didn’t you grab me?” (Or get me, or something.) I said, “you were
always talking and we don’t like to interrupt.” Then I told him we
thought he was avoiding us, or something, because every time he saw us,
he just happened to change directions. He gave me a hug and was like,
“no… sorry!” (Or something relatively similar) Then he had to pee, so I
let him go. We didn’t get to speak to Kennedy at all, because, he was
with his “not at liberty to discuss” girlfriend.
THE END.

I remember every night we spent on weekends. With good friends. We did nothin' but it seems like we did so much. Back then. Oh back then we would kick it laughin' all relaxing' And taking things for granted. We did anything for just that little rush. Just don't forget this. We won't regret this. We've got one chance to get it right. We're alive and we drive to the center of it. Where we know we're all fine and this just can't be it And in the end we all know we only breathe for so long. So tonight's the night we all roll along. Oh back to our first cigarette. You know we can't forget all the faces that we've met. Eighty One (Eighty One) Twenty Three (Twenty Three) Means everything to me. Take me back to the parking lots. The sleep we fought. And all the places we got caught. This place will always be part of me. Yeah you're all a part of me. These lyrics pretty much some up the way life used to be for my friends and I.
Just don't forget this. We won't regret this. We've got one chance to get it right. We're alive and we drive to the center of it. Where we know we're all fine and this just can't be it And in the end we all know we only breathe for so long. So tonight's the night we all roll along. I remember every day that I spent dreaming. Of leaving. This place behind I would run away from thinkin' Adding up all the days spent wasted. Chasing the girls we hated. Some things, they, they never change. Take me back o the sleepless nights. The stupid fights. It never mattered who was wrong or who was right. You're all a part of me. We're alive and we drive to the center of it. Where we know we're all fine and this just can't be it And in the end we all know we only breathe for so long. So tonight's the night we all roll along.
I am growing more in love with The Maine everyday. They're friggin' adorable, especially Pat. :)

My mom was willing to give blood so I could get VIP @ Warped. She didn't have to, because her red blood cell count was lower than what they accept... but the fact that she would have, amazing. I love my mom, she gets on my nerves like every minute of every day... but I love her with every cell in my body. I am so stoked to have the VIP pass, because it was amazing being able to meet such awesome people. I do plan to be even more fearless and run up on more people. By now I think we know everyone, so we won't justbeb taking pictures o/with random people just because they're cute (The Maine, LoL) Also... for ayone who is going to Warped Tour. It's really not such a big deal giving blood. Music Saves Lives is such an awesome organization. I would not trade my first Warped experience for anything. I cannot even imagine having nearly as much fun without my VIP wristband. It's really worth it, and on top of that... your blood may save a life. Loves it. Yes.. chekk the photos... we were really THAT close, thanks to MSL.

I had to revert back to my original post, because after having a day
to think about it, I am pissed off and I deserve to talk as much sh*t
as I want, uncensored.
I think it’s fudging ridiculous that I have to lie about my weight just to get to tickets for a goddamn TV show.
Why is it that I requested tickets for F’N MTV with the Jonas Brothers,
the day (if not within the first hour) that they were put up on the
site; and was one of the last people to get confirmed? Why did I make a
profile for my friend days later, and he get confirmed? Why did I
update my other friends old profile, and she got confirmed? No, the
kicker is… why were me and my other friend the only two people who had
not been confirmed out of everyone we know? I highly doubt its
coincidence that we were the only ones who weighed over 150, and just
happened to be the only two without tickets.
What’s so fudged about the situation is the obviousness of it all. I
changed my weight and put up an old photo where I am weaved-up and
looking a little slim (you know them “fool you once” MySpace pictures).
Not five minutes later, tickets become available and I can confirm. Are
they running a script that automatically declines/ ignores a person if
they weigh over… let’s say, 160? The sad thing is, I think the answer
is… yes! WTF kind of BS is that?
Whoever picked the casting criteria for F’N MTV, needs to have their
fingernails ripped off. For one, and no offense to the skinny folks,
but just because you’re slim or have a nice body does not mean your ass
is cute. I have seen (even on F’N MTV) fugly ass girls with jacked
weaves all in the camera. That ish is not cute; I don’t want to see
that. 1iota or MTV, or both are fudging s**tballs.
That’s what’s so jacked about society now. Little girls, not even out
of training bras purging and starving themselves. It’s really
ridiculous. What’s going to be funny is me and LaShaunda strolling our
big asses up there. (Not to eb ghetto, but...) I wish a motherf**ker
would…

Chapter
1 – Going To Warped
I called out [from work], Renae ditched, and we had no intentions
of giving a damn. First off, Renae and I left the house late, had the audacity
to stop and get some 2gb memory cards for our digital cameras, and go to the bank.
Then we drove for what felt like forever to Pomona. Then we got turned around a
bit, and finally parked after two and a half U-turns, $9, and some dumb a**
security guards. The line was long, but constantly moving, so we got in pretty
quickly. We immediately headed over the Music Saves Lives booth and got our hot
pink "VIP" wristbands. Then it was on a cracking.
Chapter 2 – Merch
Before we could even find out who was playing on what
stage and when, we stopped at the Fueled By Ramen and Glamour Kills tents.
Hadn’t even been inside for five minutes and already spending money on stuff
neither of us needed. I bought a FBR branded shirt and a The Cab band tee. I
also bought an orange ‘Glamour Kills Loves FBR” (or something like that) shirt
and another hot Glamour Kills tee. Some random guy came over with headphones
and sold us on the Valencia CD, which we went half on. The guy claimed to be in
the group, and we took a picture with him even though we were suspicious; we
thought someone who bought the CD for less, resold to. (Later we found out he
wasn’t a swindler, he’s actually the guitarist, Brendan) Then we decided to
find the Gym Class Heroes booth.
Chapter 3 – Disashi & Matt
When we get there, Renae says, “There go Disashi.” I
think she’s talking about on tee or in a photo, so I give her a look. She says,
“no, really…” and nods over to where he’s standing. I’m like, “too bad he’s
just standing there.” Then I look inside the tent and there’s Matt and a friend
(who I recognize, but don’t know the name of) and their chatting and sipping
Budweiser (eww.) So I’m like, “There go Matt.” The situation replays itself,
but the roles are switched. We laugh, because it threw us off. We decide to go
talk to Disashi, get some photos and of course plug upstate-kids.net. We
get good feedback, awesome. Then we go over to Matt and ask for some photos, he
says we can take a bunch. Renae has more than I do. Whore. We ask him about the
site, and he’s like, “Wait, that’s you guys, I thought you were like from New
York.” Renae and me give a look and I’m like, “You guys are from New York.”
It’s funny. So we chat with him for a second and then leave. We were stoked.
Chapter 4 – 3OH!3
So we go the board, get our “itinerary’ together and
head over to the SmartPunk.com stage to see The Higher. We are not that close,
but not that far; it’s pretty awesome, especially when they perform ‘Bye, Bye,
Bye.” I think the lead singer is pretty adorable. At some point I say, “S**t,
this is a small stage!” (Our VIP Wristbands allow us backstage access to small
stages, but no main stages.) We try to get in, but it’s mad crowded, so
we’re denied. As we’re walking away, we look up on the Hurley stage (which is
directly next to the SmartPunk.com) stage and see 3OH3! I again remind Renae we
can use our wristbands; so we make our way over to the backstage area. We’re
in; we’re on the side, taking photos. We got crunk and rocked out, chikka
chikka yeah. We didn’t get any photos with the guys at that time, because Sean
looked hot and tired as hell.)
Chapter 5 – The Academy Is…
So we head to the Main Stage Left where The Academy
is will be performing next. When we get there it’s more crowded than we
thought, but we still had decent positions. I started feeling hot and my legs
began to hurt; it was weird. I was okay though until the band came out. As soon
as that happened the crowd bum rushed the stage and it was a serious situation.
Not only was I standing behind the tallest dude in the vicinity, but he was
jumping and it was an extremely tight space. I started to feel super weird and
I had to get out of there, so I pushed my way through some of the rudest people
ever. I didn’t know TAI fans were so damn rowdy. I was heading over to the GCH
tent, but I didn’t make it. I just plopped down where I stood. Eventually Renae
came out and found me. I felt bad for pulling a HCT, but I couldn’t do it. She
got a few good photos though.
Chapter 6 – Technicolor
So we decided to head back over there and wait for
GCH to perform, because they were next. As soon as I stood up, everything went
awry. She decided it was a good idea to walk me over to the First Aid tent. As
we were walking, everything became extremely bright and colorful; psychedelic.
I said, "Everything is like... colorful." Renae said, "Well it
is colorful." But I was like "no, it's like...
Technicolor." That s**t was funny, but you kind of had to be there.
When we get to the tent, I find a spot and sit down. Renae decides to find me
some food, and she comes back with the nastiest looking burger I have ever
seen. I did not eat it, at all. But I did drink a bottle of cold water.
Chapter 7 – Gym Class Heroes
We get back to the main stage; I’m feeling a lot
better. I’m kind of worried I might get loopy again, but I feel strong and will
push through it for my main event. We wait for a while and the show finally
starts (late, and with technical difficulties.) they kick off with some hot
newness, and I love it. They perform amazingly, and of course we got photos and
footage. We were pretty close to the stage, and near the right side, so we had
perfect view of Eric totally feeling it. I tried desperately to get a photo off
Matt and Disashi, but D was too far on the opposite side and Matt was just
always behind someone. Regardless, that was definitely an amazing performance.
Chapter 8 – Katy Perry & Travis McCoy
We knew to head back over to the Hurley stage so we
could see Katy where waited backstage for her performance. Even though we love
Katy and wanted to watch her show, we had other motives. We knew Travis would
be back there, that’s his girl, I mean… it’s pretty obvious. So we couldn’t
really see her much during her show, but we could hear the jams and that’s what
matters. Toward the end of her set one of the crew backstage were moving people
out, so we maneuvered to where we avoided being asked to leave. Soon after Katy
and co. came very near to where we were and relaxed under a tent. On a side
note, it was very adorable to see Katy & Travis’ public displays of
affection. We were not about to bother either of them, because that would’ve
been an awkward situation.
Travis came over right past us to talk to his cute
friend who was on stage with GCH. After they finished talking we decided to
catch him before he sat back down, so I said “T ravis” and Renae said, “Hello,
Travis” simultaneously, in the funniest unintended uppity tones ever. We asked
him about Upstate Kids and he went on about how he likes that site and gives
exclusives, etc. I told him Renae owned that site and we ran it. He seemed
happy to meet her; though, I have to say, from what I hear, he hasn’t been so
awesome about corresponding with her re: the site. Any who, we got our photos
and let him go on about his day. Later we saw a group of kids catch KP, we
thought, “no time like the present.” I pulled out her CD (That I’d bought
earlier at her merch tent) and asked her to sign it. We got photos with her as
well. She was cool. I think I like her a lot.
Chapter 9 – What Do We Do Now?
During KP’s set we noticed some cute guys getting
ready to perform at the SmartPunk.com stage and decided to go that way when we
were ready. We wound up listening to them from backstage and loving it. When
they came off, we were right there where they hang out. We were just snapping
pictures, planning to google them later. (We eventually found out they are The
Maine) We each got a photo with Kennedy, and a few candids of the other
members. They were pretty awesome. I also took a photo of a guys a**, because
his pink undies were showing and it was cute. (He turned out to be an Alesana,
I believe.)
Everything in between is pretty much a blur. We
walked around, stopped at a few tents and stages. I recall buying a smoothie
and a strawberry lemonade within the same hour. We decided to head on out to
find the buses. When we did we realized that all the good s**t had probably
been popping off in this area. We showed our pink wristbands and went on in.
Chapter 10 – Smorgasbord of Free Food & Bands
We are a bit peeved at this point, because we’d spend
at least $30 each on liquids and nasty food; come to find there is literally a
buffet with real food and free beverages. When I say we attacked that water
cooler like 4 times in a row, I mean we attacked that water cooler. We sat at a
table, watched Gabe Saporta at the far end, saw William Beckett eating
(surprisingly… let’s be honest, he ways like 7 pounds) Then we decided to walk
around. We caught Beckett leaving, tried to get a photo with him, but some
other kids beat us; so we just paparazzi’d him. Then we saw Gabe and got him,
even though he seemed to be in a rush.
We took our s**t to the car and only kept the
essentials. We came back in, found a real (as in non-porter-potty) bathroom,
and washed ourselves like we’d been in a desert for weeks. Afterwards we
decided to walk through the area where the buses where.
Chapter 11 – The Hunt For Eric Roberts
Basically, the main purpose for us still being there
was to find (…photograph and molest) Eric. We already got Disashi, Matt &
Travis; we couldn’t leave with just 3 out of 4. So we walked around a lot, kept
seeing Travis and sometimes with Katy. We tried to not look like we were
stalking them, because we were actually not. We were chilling, talked to the
guy who started Music Saves Lives. Then Tom DeLonge (Angels & Airwaves)
came off his bus, he got rushed, and proceeded to go the hell back in. Then I
told Renae, “let’s give it one more go ‘round.’ So we did, and long behold…
Eric! Disashi and Eric were walking together. Renae was so damn stoked that she
did this excited kiddy-wave. I just laughed out loud because we were just
talking about them. Any who, we walked over and immediately asked for some
photos. Renae jumped in groupie-style, and it was all-good. I’m mad because one
of my camera settings caused her to look photo shopped into the pictures, which
is weird. But she’s awesome, so she didn’t cuss me out like some people
would’ve done.
Chapter 12 – Leaving Warped
So we got Eric, it was time to go. We were walking
out, saw the members of 3OH!3 playing Frisbee. We paparazzi snapped Sean (who’s
name I did not know at the time) until he turned and actually posed. He asked
if we wanted a picture, we did. We each took a photo with him. Then we went
over to Nathaniel and did the same thing. Then we saw the lead singer of
The higher, but since we didn’t and don’t know his name, we let it go. We were
sold a T13c CD from one of the band members. (It tuned out to be pretty good)
then we got in the car and basked in the awesomeness for about half an hour
before we left.
Everything up until Sunday evening when I took Renae
home was fun and funny. The weekend was just great, even on Saturday when we
were sick as dogs. Renae was looking on Ticketmaster for some warped tickets,
one thing led to another and things happened; tickets were purchased. I
cannot wait until August 14th, which is not only my 21st birthday, but also the
next time we’ll be at Warped. (Thanks to her spontaneous usage of her credit
card)

More pictures on my page. (Sorry, I am lazy!)

Geeesh, I am so in love with that album. It's as good, if not better than what I expected. it's pretty amazing, and I absolutely love how The Cab take like alternative music and really apply some R&B-like vocals and melodies. Uh May Zing! Even though One Of Those Nights is like the single, it's one of my favorite songs. Patrick acted a fool on that song, it's awesome. Buy that shit bitches!
